Workday No. 13 "Punch List"

We've made our punch list and checked it twice and unfortunately it seems to be getting longer and longer each time we look at it!

We will paint...I know we will...

It was another all-hands-on-deck kind of day with about every kind of renovation activity taking place simultaneously! There was spackling, taping, mudding and sanding, as well as caulking, wall washing and baseboard taping.

Ken and Sandy tackled the priming while Dan installed drywall and Ellen worked the mud.

Bill and Marnie made short work of the wall behind the bookcases.
It was down in less than an hour. Bill found a petrified mouse in the bottom
of the wall and thankfully he disposed of it before we were all too grossed out. With the wall down the front room is even more open. It looks amazing!

Later in the day Bill and Marnie constructed partitions for the booths.
They made them entirely out the 2x4's we rescued from the demolished walls.
WooHoo!

I sanded and put second coats of mud on the corners and edges and then sanded again. I finally had to just start priming to avoid heading straight into brain-damaging-wall-prep oblivion. A person could caulk and sand and mud forever if they were into that sort of thing...

There was also big wheelin' and dealin' today. Sandy and Ken wrangled us a sweet discount at Home Depot and we will order our paint in the morning! Ken started our application for a Merchant Account so we can take credit cards and Ellen worked behind the scenes on legal matters having to do with certificates of occupancy. Thank you guys!

Go Team Go!
