Workday No. 15 "Really"

When Ken and I arrived at the space bright and early this morning,
we'd found that Miss Sandy had been very, very busy. DONE!
DONE!Sublime!

The morning crew consisted of Ken, Sandy, Marni, Dan and my generous and most able student, Derek. We were on a mission to finish all of the wall prep by lunch time so we could actually start painting. Yes, the nasty rumor is true...Sandy had to yank the sand paper out of my hot little hands in order to get me to stop with the sanding already. It took some effort, but I have recovered now...

Ken was priming, and so was Marnie.Derek tried his hand at it,
and soon he was a serious contender for the fastest brush in the west.
I feel certain it's all the great bow arm techniques I taught him freshman year...I think he would've won the competition hands down
had he not decided to see what it tasted like.Too bad.

Dan applied mud to the penultimate drywall patch, while Ellen made short work of the very last one. Nice work!

Just after lunch we picked our advertising logo (photos to come)
and at exactly 3:07pm it was really
TIME TO PAINT!

On your mark,get set,
GO!
The color looks fantastic. Goodbye dingy old yellowy beige walls.

As if all the craziness going on inside weren't enough,
outside in the parking lot a gravel crew was regrading

and filling the pot holes.

Thanks guys!

Our landlord Mike was also on hand boarding up one of the garage
doors in the back space and installing a huge fixed glass window. Now we can really get a good look at the train that passes by several times a day.

In the meantime Bill and Dan were busy shoring up the booth partitions and minutes after finishing this task, Bill crafted the world's largest pointing finger. It'll point to the door of our shop.

Dan was very sorry to learn that size does matter after all...
Just after Bill completed the finger we paused to celebrate Miss Sandy's birthday.Cupcakes and champagne. Cheers!Various and sundry cupcake and pretzel eating techniques were explored,

and in the end, it was a most perfect day.
Now if only I had something to sand...
